Things to Consider with Your Bath Faucet
Choosing a bath faucet these days is far from simple. You have so many options to choose from. Here are some things that you may want to consider when choosing faucets for your bath.
Faucet Location
Your first consideration should be the exact spot where you will be placing your faucet. Bathroom faucets may be intended for the sink, tub or the shower. Various designs may fit one or the other better. A wall mounted faucet for example is definitely meant for the shower. A long elegant spout on the other hand would probably look better attached to the sink. A tub faucet may come in similar designs as the sink faucet but should ideally have controls for quick flow.
Handles and Holes
Faucets can have one or two handles. They may also be designed to fit one or two holes. You have to pick a bath faucet with holes that match the number of holes on your fixture. This will also determine if you can have one or two handles. Single handled faucets allow quick operation. Double handles on the other hand will let you adjust the water temperature better. Double handles are a great help in showers and bath tubs.
Style and Design
There are various faucet designs that you can choose from. The designs don’t just vary with the kind of handle design. Faucet materials vary too. Some come in chrome while others in brass. Other faucets also have elements of rubber, crystal or enamel incorporated in them.
Aside from the appearance considerations, other aspects of style also vary. The more modern faucets can now function automatically. They can turn off and on with the movement of the hands. Some faucets also have color indicators that tell you the temperature of your water.
Size of Faucet
Some people may not realize it but faucet size matters a lot. Sometimes the size matters more than the design or style. The size actually contributes to your bathroom statement. Big faucets in small bathrooms will make them look even smaller. Small bathrooms should therefore ideally have small faucets. Big bathrooms on the other hand will look absurd with mini faucets and should be fitted with bigger ones.
Your choice of bath faucet is important. When you do pick your bathroom faucets, always consider more than just the price. Consider too its size, style, handles and where you will be placing them.
